Dear Alice,

Your Ikebana flower arrangements were so lovely.
My husband and I are still enjoying the arrangement
of Anthuriums. Jackee and Ab our daughter-in-law
and son, loved their arrangement of lilies !
Even better was your presentation and the
expression of joy in your work.

Best of luck in your continued interest in
this delightful art form.

Sincere regrads,

Dede Kirwan

2008/05/03

I just came back from "Day at the Derby" UD Women Club fundraiser at Chisel Creek
Golf Club in Landerberg, PA. And every lady need to wear a derby hat that you
create it yourself. I did not even know what is a Derby hat looks like when they
invited me last week yet I got first prize among 50 ladies. I spent two night in
internet to study 134 Kentucky derby 2008 especially in horses and Kentucky derby
history. I used dried flower to create a horse racing Ikebana flower arrangement
then put on a big straw hat and have one dried flower for one horse with its names
in it and I had a flower that is ahead of everyone and the name is Big Brown and this
horse is actually the winner of 134 Kentucky Derby.

The prize for the first place of Derby hat creation is a pot of plant, 5 big red roses
and a Derby glass with a small bottle of of Boubon for making a Mint Julep the Derby drink.  (
